Horse steak. Yelp – horse steak.
That was supper last night: Horse steak and a baked potato.
You may be wondering where we obtained such a rare delicacy as you would be hard pressed to find it in a USA grocery store. The short answer – and the only one that protects the innocent – is that we live in the mountains of Idaho… enough said. 
Back to the steaks.
It was pretty good. A tad tough – but not really chewy…just tough. It would do better as a stew instead of a steak.
One thing I noticed is that horse meat is a lot redder then bovine. So much so that my stomach tried to rebel before supper… however, I was able to talk my stomach into calming down and trying some of the delicacy. 
so how does it compare to deer?
it wasn’t as “gamy”… as in it tasted different. I can’t really explain it.. I will say that it was pretty good – just tough. =/

my parents said that after eating horse you will not respond to penacilan treatments. ? Now I am curious.
